The work of Heritage Infusion originates from an investigation of my family’s textile heritage. It researches the practice of textile craft and how such knowledge has been passed down through generations, from great-grandmothers to daughters to grandchildren. The collection is an homage to the women who have influenced my path into textiles.
Heritage Infusion aims to explore the translation of traditional to contemporary, handmade to digital. The print collection focuses on the visual construction of the traditional weaving pattern monk’s belt in an effort to use it as a source of inspiration for how a contemporary surface pattern version could be designed.
